Bella Garden Seeks Winning Mom 
In October of 2006, Bella Garden opened as a 1,000 sq. ft. facility in the Publix FishHawk Shopping Center offering fashionable, stylish and affordable close to home. Since then, the shop has expanded to 2,400 sq. ft. and offers products from vendors Vera Bradley, Brighton, Pandora, Tommy Bahama, Reef and, coming soon, Lucky Brand. Part-owner Maria Malec said that since Vera Bradley has begun marketing more towards the teen/tween audience, Bella Garden is as well, offering younger, more affordable apparel.
Services that Bella Garden provides include free gift wrapping, gift/wish list registry, monogramming custom gift baskets and monthly instore events. This month’s in-store event is the Resort Collection premier of Vera Bradley.
Services and products start as low as $5 and go up from there, Malec said. As a FishHawk resident for three years, along with her partner, Stacey Rektenwald, who has been a resident for five, Malec says she feels like “We’ve finally found our nitch in the community.”
October 25, Bella Garden will also hold its Second Anniversary and Customer Appreciation Event. An RSVP is required for this event. It is recommended that you RSVP by October 23 for the October 25 event.
The winning mom will be honored at the Second Anniversary and Customer Appreciation Event on October 25. The winning mom will receive a full make-over with an outfit from Bella Garden, hair by Aquali Salon & Spa, manicure and pedicure by Signal Nails and free dinner for four by Publix Aprons.
To enter, children must write a 500-1,000 word essay about why their Mom rocks. Essays will be judged on originality, creativity and passionate words describing mom. On a separate sheet of paper provide Bella Garden with your name and your mom’s name along with your phone number and essay, of course. The deadline is October 20.
